USBC Central Alabama Scholarship Program 


CRITERIA FOR AWARDING SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS

1. The Central Alabama USBC Association (CAA) scholarship is for one (1) year, renewable for three (3) additional years; providing eligibility requirements are maintained.

2. Scholarship selection will be made from applicants that meet the following eligibility:

a. High School Senior Youth bowlers who are certified members in good standing and have been members for at least two (2) years in our CAA USBC Association.
b. Teenage children who have not completed the first year of their post secondary school year and who’s parents are certified members in good standing and have been members for at least two (2) years in our CAA USBC Association.

3. The scholarship is for direct expenses at any accredited University, College or Vocational School. Funds will be issued directly to the school, in the name of the recipient.

4. Applicant must disclose all other scholarships that have been awarded.

5. The amount of financial aid awarded will be recommended annually by the CAA Scholarship Committee and must be approved by the Board of Directors.

6. The scholarship recipients will be announced during the Annual CAA Awards Ceremony.

 

Initial Application Requirements:

1. Submit a completed application. Application must be legible
2. A minimum of two (2) letters of recommendation.
3. An official copy of the High School Transcript. Must include explanation of grade scale
4. Copy of CAA membership certification card.
5. Complete application package is to be submitted by June 15th to CAA Scholarship Committee, 71 S. Jordan Dam Rd. Wetumpka AL 36092
6. Incomplete/Illegible application packages, or packages submitted with a postmark after June 15th will not be considered.

 

Renewal Requirements:

To be eligible for renewal recipient must maintain a 2.0 GPA (on a 4 point scale) or a 1.0 GPA (on a 3 point scale).
1. Submit an official copy of post-secondary school transcript covering the entire school year by June 15th.
2. Unofficial transcripts or transcripts postmarked after June 15th will not be considered.
